Die Affenfaust Galerie eröffnet die Ausstellung des Jahres: KNOTENPUNKT25. Auf über 1000 m² kann die derzeit relevanteste Urban und Contemporary Art entdeckt werden. Immersive Installationen, großformatige Arbeiten und neue Räume laden dazu ein, in vielfältige visuelle Welten einzutauchen.
Zu den Höhepunkten in diesem Jahr zählen unter anderem ein Mural der kanadischen Künstlerin Miss Me, die für das Eröffnungswochenende nach Hamburg kommt, Kunstwerke von Mr. Brainwash, MadC, Rafael Sliks und Shepard Fairey, eine Live-Performance von Otto Baum, eine Inszenierung des Künstlerduos Coarse sowie ein begehbares Gesamtkunstwerk der Hamburger Künstlerin Maens.
Das diesjährige Line-up umfasst über 40 Künstler:innen aus aller Welt – darunter die USA, Kanada, England, Frankreich und Australien. Viele aufstrebende Positionen treffen auf weltweit etablierte Namen – eine perfekte Gelegenheit, neue Talente zu entdecken und mit dem Sammeln zu beginnen.
Ein neues Highlight in diesem Jahr ist, dass im Rahmen des Festivals auch wegweisende Positionen der Pop Art gezeigt werden – jene Künstler, die mit ihrer Bildsprache ganze Generationen urbaner Kunst geprägt haben. Mit Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring und Robert Indiana werden zentrale Ikonen eingebunden, deren Werke – aus einer privaten Sammlung – prägnante Bezugspunkte zur Gegenwart bilden. Zwischen Massenbild und Comic, Sprache und Symbol schaffen sie einen Dialog mit den heutigen visuellen Codes der Street- und Urban Art. Die gezeigten Arbeiten sind im Kontext der Ausstellung auch erhältlich.
Seit nun über einem Jahrzehnt wird KNOTENPUNKT von der Affenfaust Galerie kuratiert und eine Auswahl an aktuell relevanter Urban Art und zeitgenössischer Kunst präsentiert. Die herausragende Qualität und Bandbreite der gezeigten Positionen ist deutschlandweit einzigartig und spielt auch international ganz oben mit. Im Zentrum steht dabei immer eine große Gruppenausstellung, die von einem vielfältigen Rahmenprogramm in Form von Events, Performances, Installationen, Kooperationen mit lokalen Institutionen und von Kunst im öffentlichen Raum begleitet wird.
The Affenfaust Galerie is opening the exhibition of the year: KNOTENPUNKT25. The most relevant urban and contemporary art can be discovered on over 1000 m². Immersive installations, large-scale works and new spaces invite you to immerse yourself in diverse visual worlds.
This year’s highlights include a mural by Canadian artist Miss Me, who is coming to Hamburg for the opening weekend, artworks by Mr. Brainwash, MadC, Rafael Sliks and Shepard Fairey, a live performance by Otto Baum, a staging by artist duo Coarse and a walk-in Gesamtkunstwerk by Hamburg artist Maens.
This year’s line-up includes over 40 artists from all over the world – including the USA, Canada, England, France and Australia. Many up-and-coming positions meet globally established names – a perfect opportunity to discover new talent and start collecting.
A new highlight this year is that the festival will also be showing pioneering positions in Pop Art – those artists who have shaped entire generations of urban art with their visual language. With Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Robert Indiana, central icons are included whose works – from a private collection – form concise points of reference to the present. Between mass image and comic, language and symbol, they create a dialog with today’s visual codes of street and urban art. The works on display are also available in the context of the exhibition.
KNOTENPUNKT has been curated by Affenfaust Galerie for over a decade now and presents a selection of currently relevant urban art and contemporary art. The outstanding quality and range of the exhibited positions is unique in Germany and also plays at the top internationally. The focus is always on a large group exhibition, which is accompanied by a diverse supporting program in the form of events, performances, installations, collaborations with local institutions and art in public spaces.
There will be a special performance program exclusively for the vernissage on 12.09.2025: Otto Baum, Maens and ilithya & Timo Johannes will show live works specially conceived for this evening – only to be experienced on this date.
